What’s sweet, savory, woody, and comes in a limited edition can that fits perfectly into football tailgaters’ hands?
Apparently, Dr Pepper’s latest limited edition drink – a non-alcoholic, bourbon-flavored reserve.
The company announced the release Monday, noting that fans may be able to grab a can by entering the Pepper Perks program and playing a scratch-to-win game on the Dr Pepper website.
The launch is a testament to the brand’s “strong connection to college football,” company executives said in a news release, noting that it also has traces of cherry, vanilla, chocolate and caramel.

Some social media users scoffed at the announcement, writing “No thanks,” while others pushed the company to sell the bourbon drink in stores so everyone can try.
“I’m going to need this!” wrote one Twitter user. “I’m from Kentucky so I know it’ll be good!”
The company teased the announcement on Friday, prompting some customers to reminisce about their favorite, hard to find Dr Pepper flavors: Dark Berry, Heritage, and even Cream Soda.
