ANDY: DESPITE POLLING SHOWING A VERY CLOSE RACE FOR OKLAHOMA GOVERNOR, INCUMBENT KEVIN STITT HAS RAISED MORE THAN THREE TIMES HIS CHALLENGER, JOY HOFMEISTER. LET’S START WITH TOTAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS AS OF AUGUST 8. STITT FOR GOVERNOR HAS RAISED AROUND $5,579,000. FRIENDS OF JOY HOFMEISTER DOESN’T COME CLOSE, ONLY BRINGING IN ABOUT $1,500,000. POLITICAL ACTION CAMPAIGNS HAVE GIVEN STITT MORE THAN A QUARTER OF MILLION DOLLARS, WHILE HOFMEISTER HAS BROUGHT IN AROUND $17,000 FROM SIMILAR GROUPS. Despite polls showing a very close race for Oklahoma governor, incumbent Kevin Stitt has raised more than three times his challenger Joy Hofmeister.So far this election, Stitt for Governor has raised around $5,579,000. Friends of Joy Hofmeister doesn’t come close, only bringing in about $1,500,000. Political action campaigns have given Stitt more than a quarter of a million dollars, while Hofmeister has brought in around $17,000 from similar groups, bringing Stitt’s overall to more than $6 million with Hofmeister a little over $1.5 million.That money they’ve raised has already gone to work, paying for campaign expenses, such as those constant television ads.Hofmeister spent nearly $1.1 million, while Stitt spent around $5.3 million. With the race being so close, political groups have decided more money is the way to secure a victory.The Republican Governors Association said they will spend seven figures on ads in support of Stitt. On the other side, Politico reports, that an ad tracking firm’s aid over $7 million in ads has been bought by groups either endorsing Hofmeister or attacking Stitt.Believe it or not, election day is two weeks from Tuesday, so expect more money to flow in and more ads to the airwaves.
