ANDY: DESPITE POLLING SHOWING A VERY CLOSE RACE FOR OKLAHOMA GOVERNOR, INCUMBENT KEVIN STITT HAS RAISED MORE THAN THREE TIMES HIS CHALLENGER, JOY HOFMEISTER. LET’S START WITH TOTAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS AS OF AUGUST 8. STITT FOR GOVERNOR HAS RAISED AROUND $5,579,000. FRIENDS OF JOY HOFMEISTER DOESN’T COME CLOSE, ONLY BRINGING IN ABOUT $1,500,000. POLITICAL ACTION CAMPAIGNS HAVE GIVEN STITT MORE THAN A QUARTER OF MILLION DOLLARS, WHILE HOFMEISTER HAS BROUGHT IN AROUND $17,000 FROM SIMILAR GROUPS. THAT BRINGS STITT’S OVERALL TO MORE THAN 6 MILLION, WITH HOFMEISTER A LITTLE OVER 1.5 MILLION. THAT MONEY THEY’VE RAISED HAS ALREADY GONE TO WORK PAYING FOR CAMPAIGN EXPENSES, THE MOST NOTABLE OF COURSE, THOSE CONSTANT TV ADS. >> I’M JOY HOFMEISTER, AND LIKE MOST OF YOU, I’M GUIDED BY FAITH, FAMILY, EDUCATION, AND HARD WORK. >> WITH KEVIN STITT AS GOVERNOR, WE ARE POISED FOR EVEN GREATER THINGS. ANDY: HOFMEISTER HAS SPENT NEARLY $1.1 MILLION, WHILE STITT HAS SPENT AROUND 5.3 MILLION. AND WITH THE RACE BEING SO CLOSE POLITICAL GROUPS HAVE DECIDED MORE MONEY IS THE WAY TO SECURE A VICTORY. THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR’S ASSOCIATION SAYS THEY WELL SPEND SEVEN FIGURES ON ADS IN SUPPORT OF STITT. ON THE OTHER SIDE POLITICO REPORTS THAT AN AD TRACKING FIRM SAYS OVER $7 MILLION IN ADS HAS BEEN BOUGHT BY GROUPS EITHER ENDORSING HOFMEISTER OR ATTACKING STITT. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, ELECTION DAY IS LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY. WE ARE TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM THIS COMING TUESDAY, WHICH MEANS MORE MONEY COMING INTO THE STATE AND MORE ADS TO HIT THE AIRWAVES
